It is Visual DNA--- the staircase a double helix into the dark unknown of human wisdom. The old man sits quiet for eternity waiting for man to discover the mysteries around him--- the light of a million sunrises have come and gone and still he sits...Maybe he is waiting for american idol to come on.

I'm studying Chiaroscuro right now and fell in love with this painting. The light on the stairway to heaven is what I love the most.
