the inner child as artist

the trick to art is to never lose the shiny coin in your pocket called childhood. You must hold onto some of the magic of youth with all your might, life is a lion and she does all she can to steal it away from you. My inner child is bruised and half-pickeled but he is still there. I know people who have lost the spark in the eye at 40....Art has helped keep me on track and in touch with my childhood. Not much has changed, just me alone with my sketchbooks and a dozen pencils....Sometimes I forget the joy of creation but it always finds me again, eventually.
