How the media works:

On the early show this morning the heads are talking about texting while driving or using a cell phone. They have brought out a victim who lost her brother (which is very sad) but here is how the media works:

Problem: distracted driving

Reaction:  Sadness, disgust by the mass of viewers

Solution: calls for Legislation, more gov. control of the sheeple.

For some reason you wont even hear the media touch on the fact that 31 cities ( and probably 3x that) have radioactive ground water contaminated with  hexavalent chromium...here is the science gobley gook on the toxcity of H. C

Toxicity

Hexavalent chromium is transported into cells via the sulfate transport mechanisms, taking advantage of the similarity of sulfate and chromate with respect to their structure and charge. Trivalent chromium, which is the more common variety of chromium compounds, is not transported into cells.
Inside the cell, Cr(VI) is reduced first to metastable pentavalent chromium (Cr(V)), then to trivalent chromium (Cr(III)). Chromate-dyed textiles or chromate-tanned leather shoes can cause or exacerbate contact dermatitis. Vitamin C and other reducing agents combine with chromate to give Cr(III) products inside the cell.^[3]
Hexavalent chromium compounds are genotoxic carcinogens. Chronic inhalation of hexavalent chromium compounds increases risk of lung cancer (lungs are especially vulnerable, followed by fine capillaries in kidneys and intestine). According to some researchers, the damage is caused by hydroxyl radicals, produced during reoxidation of pentavalent chromium by hydrogen peroxide molecules present in the cell. Strontium chromate is the strongest carcinogen of the chromates used in industry. Soluble compounds, like chromic acid, are much weaker carcinogens.^[3]
In the U.S., the OSHA PEL for airborne exposures to hexavalent chromium is 5 µg/m³ (0.005 mg/m³).^[4][5]

<sup>Now the reason the media wont report about this is because it cant be used to control the people...to spotlight this would just cost a lot of money and egg on the face for the gov. Instead they are going to to talk about the handful of texting deaths (albeit tragic deaths) that occur each year. Go into a bar and ask the people if they know that three dozen american cities have radioactive water and see the blank stares. At least the chinese media admits it is state controlled.
