I want to thank everyone who came to the show. It was a great time (as best I remember) 30 days of no sleep and a couple glasses of wine make for a fuzzy alex. The support means a lot to me. Now I must face the day and go back to gallery and handle "stuff"...
all the best.

tonight is the show!
very excited! So many people are coming we had to hire two security guards. (Nice last minute expense I had not planned on.) Someone said my artwork looks like bad led zeppelin album cover art. That made me happy as I love that band! When people look like they were dressed by their mom in the kentucky hill country I tend not to listen to them as critics. I almost did a Paul McCartney album cover but I would have much rather have my art on a zep cover. My NYC statue of liberty cover is on the streets today--- saw it this morning as I stumbled hungover to get a red bull at 5 AM.

632 Hudson St.
632 Hudson St. (between Horatio and Jane) 7:30-10Marshall and I hung the 99% of the show yesterday. Nice to be on time for once even though I only had thirty days to pull show together. I am doing watercolors all day today and some busy work as well and then tomorrow I hang a few final pieces that are drying still. If I do say so myself Marshall and I created a spiritual show. We went out for drinks and I think we both felt we had done something very special, the show works, it harmonizes. Here is a peek at one of my walls from my cell phone---One painting is still drying and missing and the lighting is not set. The art show will be photographed tomorrow and I will post and the pieces will all be shot on the walls the day after so I will have a complete record of everything.

update
Delivered art yesterday. Worn and ragged like a homeless person from a month of no sleep. Felt good to get it into space. Had about four jack and cokes too many to celebrate and ran into a girl I knew from high school who told me I needed therapy. I told her I needed sleep. I had a three hour lucid dream of perth Australia, (never been.) Today I hang art and then I have endless details to handle by friday...At least I can sleep. I am getting back to running again, if I stop running I get edgy and nervous. My energy turns on itself if I dont watch out for it. Talked to my cab driver about peter gabriel and music we both like-- he is coming to show. (the cabby not peter)

gardega on painting
If I could say anything about art I have learned it is that is important to let the painting speak to you. I used to dictate to my paintings, now I listen to them. They only whisper and you must listen carefully and with an open soul. A painting can come from far outside of you. It took me my whole life to learn to listen. You dont find your style it finds you but only when you let go and open yourself up.

I was never a huge fan of collage as I thought it a place for people who cannot draw but liked to use scissors and glue. As time went on...
