Jarvick gets canned---by gardega
I was one of the first to let you know that the claim that Jarvick invented the artificial heart had more holes in it than your average swiss cheese. I get very annoyed when people take other peoples labors and pretend they are their own. It was gardega who told you about paul winchell, the voice of Tigger, and his part in inventing the heart. I was informed by a friend that Jarvick has been canned from the commercials as the cat was released from its bag! Viva gardega and Viva knowledge and infomation which is more valuable than art at times. The truth will set you free.

1) be thorough 2) get a momentum going 3) STAY FOCUSED! LOSE FOCUS, LOSE MOMENTUM. Ask yourself what you should be thinking about right now ...
Not really.
ReplyDeletePfizer's patent on Lipitor runs out in two years. Clinical trials of a newer, better, cholesterol lowering drug Pfizer was developing to offset that patent loss failed. With two years left and sales of Lipitor through the roof, they no longer need Dr. Jarvik to promote their product.
Simply, he did his job as a spokesperson, and he was incredibly effective. The Jarvik 7was the first device intended to replace the human heart, permanently - something the Winchell blueprints didn't expand on.
I don't think there is any reference to Dr. Jarvik passing himself off as a practicing physician, or trying to. His background has always been a matter of public record. In all fairness, though, it is easy to see how the public would infer otherwise, but that is the doing of the Ad agency. I found this from MARCH of 2007:
