Gardega on fear

If you let fear run your life then the race is over before it starts. Life is a scary thing and death is the final, inevitable signature on the canvas of your life and It is scrawled with a bony and shaky hand. The only prayer you have is that you lived boldly for your dreams and for the better angels of your nature and tried your damnedest to advance your vision of the "world the ought to be"--- even if you failed you followed your inner voice even as it was drowned out by the voices of "the consensus mob." If you laid your dreams at the foot of another or buried them long ago in some forgotten suburban yard then their ghosts will whisper to you in your long dark nights of exile from paradise. Fear is the damndest thing I have ever known in this world. I think life springs from fear like a mushroom from an old fallen tree. Fear is the pearl in our oyster that either destroys us or guides us into the promised land. Fear is a perfect thing.
