etched glass by gardega
Here is a terrible photo of a piece I finished yesterday..It is blotchy because I cleaned the glass and some parts were still wet. I was too impatient to wait for it to dry. This mary and the manger it will be installed soon and I will photograph it then. You will actually be able to read what it is then as well. The piece isnt bad but nothing is ever good enough..there is always a time factor (especially after you broke the same piece two weeks ago) In art you have to get things done, there is no time to noodle and noodle and noodle. Deadlines need to be met (or at least watched as they drive past you with their middle finger out the window) Time is the enemy of art, it exposes the fake in art. Look at the abstract expressionist show at the Moma, That art has aged about as well as sushi left in the sun. My only hope in art is to make some stuff that still looks good in 100 years and doesnt look like some dated crap made by an artist trying to be hip or fashionable or relevant or "of his time" my work is from the gut and If God gave me bad guts, then talk to him, not me.

1) be thorough 2) get a momentum going 3) STAY FOCUSED! LOSE FOCUS, LOSE MOMENTUM. Ask yourself what you should be thinking about right now ...
