Okay, I have blown up my rough sketch to three foot high in the copy store. Now you can really dig in and refine it. It is distorted because of the camera angle. I look at art as a spiral into a drain towards perfection..My methods are odd as I am self taught but they work..some people are more methodical but they dont have any life in their work. I trade method for soul. Im not an accountant or bean counter. I am a fiery artist who tries his best not to make crappy art. Some artists are afraid of scale, I used to be. I am nolonger afraid of alrge works 10 foot 20 foot, no problem..you simply have to break the fear wall. Dont fear perfection, you will never reach it.
clean it up..constant clean up and reworking...again the distortion is the camera angle.
Okay, so when I was somewhat happy with my sketch on tracing paper, I trace it onto Bond paper. The reason I do this is because I can make a much better drawing on bond, it just works better for line quality. I hate the labor of tracing and rubbing all the crap but it is part of the battle. Rome didnt make omelets in a day (or did I mix metaphors) anyways...Now it is drawing time.
