in your arsenal of art
An artist has an arsenal to fight the great battle of art. In my arsenal I have hundreds and thousands of hours of copying old masters, drawing hands and wings and angels and feet etc. Sometimes you dont have time to go looking up reference for things and you have to trust you can draw a foot that doesnt look like a tree stump on the fly. It is important to draw as much as you can to grow your arsenal (especially when young) it will serve you well, it is a mental militia against the blank page of tyranny! And If you cant draw a foot (the hardest of all things to draw) stick a cat or a rock in front of it. I tried for 6 months to not make art in my apt. and to keep it happy and clean and uncluttered. I almost went out of my mind. I have to have my art close to me. I have to be able to get up and draw or paint, clutter be damned..mental health trumps clutter.

1) be thorough 2) get a momentum going 3) STAY FOCUSED! LOSE FOCUS, LOSE MOMENTUM. Ask yourself what you should be thinking about right now ...
