There is a big controversy brewing because they have chosen a Chinese sculptor to carve the MLK memorial. He is very famous in china and known for his carving of chairman Mao. Personally, I think it would be best suited for a young black artist to have a go at the sculpture. I am sure there are many african american scuptors who would view this as the chance of a lifetime and would probably have a greater connection to MLK than a sculptor from communist china. Its just my two cents..plus it could have a stamp that says made in america on the bottom of it.
