thoughts for a day
I used to bartend in NYC and woody johnson was a regular customer of mine. He was a really nice guy and just mixed in with the other customers and always waited quietly for a table. He used to wear blue jeans and was always unassuming, no one at the bar knew he was a billionaire. I didnt know anything until my manager told me. I once drew a portrait of his entire table as he was celebrating a jets victory and he loved it and framed it. I feel terrible for him in regards to his daughter passing on. I am not sure why rich kids let their lives spiral into a crazed mess, maybe it is the day to day grind of survival that keeps most people real and in touch. If you dont have that it is probably easy to lose your grip. I have a lot of respect for privileged people who work hard and keep their focus as it is a lot easier just to shop and travel than work hard. I guess you want to give your kids as much as possible to make their lives easy and comfortable but sometimes it can backfire. As long a sI am selling enough art to pay my bills (and there was many years where I didnt) I am a happy person. A creative outlet is a gift--- it is like a rudder on a ship that can keep you on course. Sometimes people feel so lost because they dont know who or what they are and they have no where to channel the energy and it turns on them like a bad dog.

1) be thorough 2) get a momentum going 3) STAY FOCUSED! LOSE FOCUS, LOSE MOMENTUM. Ask yourself what you should be thinking about right now ...
