art lesson of the day
When you buy a new canvas or board and you have carefully gessoed or prepared it, lay it on your table or easel and stare at it for exactly one minute, after one minute, the blank panel will tell you which is the "top" and which is "bottom" dont worry about factory labels on back of panels etc..listen to your gut..this isnt a joke I have done this for years..the canvas will tell you. I regularly flip my pieces the other way after doing this..even a blank piece of paper has a spiritual top and bottom.

Here is a detail from my piece in progress. At Mcsorleys you can only get light or dark beer, no bottles and no liquor..The name Mcsorley...
