for you, the blind, who once could see...

I have a rule that I live by in NYC and that is I always help blind people, no matter how much of a rush I am in. I also ask them questions about colours as I walk them to where they are going. They are always pleasant and glad to talk.

alex: How long have you been blind for?

conway: 30 years.

alex: do you have a favorite colour?

conway: Light green?

alex: like the colour of the grass in the back of Giorgione's tempest!

conway: excuse me?

alex: who is your favorite painter?

conway: I like jamaican art, I am from jamaica.

Alex: ahhh...the light green landscapes of jamaica...I have seen them as a teenager. Island art has great colours. do you like new york?

conway: I love new york.

alex: me too. is it the m15 bus?

conway: yes

alex: nice meeting you, can I take your picture for my blog?

conway...yes.

alex: be well!

conway: take care
