There are no shoes in your brain

Brains are better than computers because the brain can give a nonlinear output from simple input. The output of the brain is not simply predicted by the input (read that twice)... Brains cells differ from other cells because they have excitable membranes---electrical impulses "spikes" are the language of the brain, all the information in the brain is carried by the interval in between these  spikes (This is like great music in which the space between the notes is what counts--not the notes.) This is a form of pulse code modulation--this is a fancy word for the brains own morse code. Brain cells fire spikes because they have a semi permeable membrane----Brain cells fire spikes when sodium rushes in and potassium rushes out..The second way brain cells differ than  other cells is that they communicate via synapses..there are a hundred trillion synapses--that is almost more then the national debt..There are so many cells and synapses that it leads to endless possible outcomes---non linearity is the essence of the brain! anything can happen in the space between the cells, the empty space between notes...endless permutations and possibilities..all magic in art and life and in the brain rises from the empty space, the empty tea cup of possibility. Computers only spit out data based on what they are fed, the brain invented computers but it may one day invent a computer that mimics the brain exactly. I think this is exciting and also dangerous.  

It amazes me that the brain holds data by simple electrical spikes in the synapses between cells. There are no shoes in your brain, there is a pulse code modulation of a shoe--a cerebral morse code for shoe..there is no memory of your mother in your brain it is the silent space between electrical spikes that creates your dear mommy. we are simply ones and zeroes like computer language but the brain's network of cells is laid out so that anything can happen--we are not a slave to input like the computer you are staring at as your read this.

Hopefully my brain surgeon friends dont read this and pick it apart..I am making a simple point
