I just read that the Australian cane toad wiggles the middle toe on its hind legs to lure in the young young toads in order to cannibalize them. This parental act of cannibalization was a theory much explored by the Divine Dali. Instead of toads with wiggling toes Dali often used the story of William Tell with himself as William Tell..Instead of placing an apple on his head to be shot off by the cannibalistic father figure, Dali being the surrealist par- excellent placed melting pork chops on his shoulders. Dali was fond of the Freudian quote "He who does not slay his father can never become the hero!" Which in turn leads us to the myth of Oedipus...one must think about these things when one reads about cane toads.
