most photography (in my humble opinion) is simply junk, the side effect of a digital art too easy to master.. There are places where I think photography elevates itself to the level of art and rises above prostituted pet photos and commercial bunk...War photography is something that is very important (I believe) in that it helps us to see what really goes on in conflict and takes beyond the nightly news and into the trenches.. It often reminds me of Goya and his horror of war pictures--- I am not sure it is a sun I would choose to stare into but I believe it has a real purpose in the world.
