settling down

I have been running full speed on the dark steed of art for the last 25 years of my life. The landscape of life a green grey blur at my eyes corner. Ive lost friends, girlfriends, jobs, and a chance to reach upper level management in some flourescnt lit building. Sometimes I think of slowing the horse down finding a princess getting the same color sweat suits and settling down to a life of domestic bliss and watching some tv. If I ever do this I will have enough memories and stories of my crazy life to last an old man well into his adult diaper days. I pity those who played it straight and sold their soul to faustian cubicle, a square world with thumbtacked photos of places and islands they will never go. You cant run flat out forever, you blow a gasket and die alone with a bottle of cheap wine and a sketchbook. One day the horse will slow and instead of a brush I will grab a pocketful of security and a tv guide.
