how to survive as an artist in NYC

This cracks me up.

I found this blog today http://surviveandthriveinthearts.blogspot.com/

It is a blog about surviving as an artist in NYC.

If you notice, the creator of this blog got all excited, started a blog, made a couple of entries and then left it on the sidewalk like a mumbling step-child.

HERE IS HOW TO SURVIVE AS AN ARTIST IN NYC:

YOU WORK YOUR LIVING TAIL OFF, YOU GO AFTER ART LIKE IT IS YOUR LAST MEAL. YOU WAKE UP IN ART, YOU GO TO BED WITH ART ON YOUR MIND, YOU GIVE IT YOUR HEART YOUR SOUL AND YOUR BLOOD. IF YOU START A BLOG YOU NAIL THE THING EVERY DAY,  MANY, MANY TIMES. YOU DRAW EVERY DAY, YOU PAINT EVERY DAY.  SUNDAY ISNT HIPPY-PARK DAY, SUNDAY IS A WORK DAY. THE MINUTE SOME FLAKE STARTS TO TELL ME ABOUT ART AND THEN I ASK THEM WHEN THE LAST TIME THEY PAINTED WAS AND THEY TELL ME IT IS MONTHS, I WRITE THEM OFF LIKE A BAD LOAN. YOU ARE EITHER IN OR YOU ARE OUT.YOU MUST BE PERSISTENT DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY. YOU WILL GET NOWHERE IF YOU SIT IN CAFES AND TALK ART.IF YOU ARE THE KIND OF PERSON THAT STARTS AN ART  BLOG (WHICH IS A TERRIBLE WORD) AND YOU LEAVE IT ALONE AND WALK AWAY, YOU HAVE THE SAME COMMITMENT TO YOUR ART---NONE..AND I HAVE NO TIME FOR YOU. I AM NOT MEAN, I JUST DONT WASTE MY TIME ON BS.
