You pass a million strangers in NYC everyday, a million stories. Will this couple marry? I assume they arent married (hence the romance) They have no idea they are being studied like so many amoebas by me...In truth my main interest was the shadow they were casting. It is the perfect composition element  to drag the eye in to the piece..a good artist draws they eye around the painting like a monkey drags around a bunch of bananas in the zoo. If you were going to paint this, I would remove the horizontal line by their feet, it cuts them from the rest of the painting

you must conduct the eye like a conductor conducts a symphony.
